Mikela Murphy, B.A.
Mikela Murphy, B.A., is a pre-doctoral psychology extern at the Child and Family Institute and a clinical psychology PhD student at Fordham University. In 2018, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and music performance from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Mikela has been providing therapeutic interventions for two years and recently completed an externship at Fordham’s Counseling and Psychological Services where she provided therapy to emerging adults. Mikela has research and clinical interests in pediatric psychology and has served as an interventionist for a protocol for improving medication adherence among pediatric liver transplant recipients. Mikela utilizes evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her work. Mikela aims to create a warm and supportive environment for all of her clients and provide culturally sensitive and collaborative care.
