Kelly Platt, LLPC
Kelly is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) at the Child and Family Institute. She graduated with her Bachelors from Emerson College and completed her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at NYU. Kelly has worked with clients ranging from pre-teens to late adulthood. She has helped clients navigate such issues as anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief, trauma and affective challenges.
Her journey to becoming a therapist grew out of a lifelong passion for and appreciation of one-on-one relationships. She believes in the power of telling one’s story to another, supported by the space, safety, and connection to do so. Her work is about creating that space and building trust so that clients feel comfortable and cared for.
Her theoretical approach balances psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives, integrating narrative therapy and family systems work. She values the story that brought the client in and, just as importantly, focuses on strengthening supports for their well-being in the present and for the future.
She is a former business professional, a mother of four, and a certified yoga instructor. Her approach is trauma-informed and culturally humble, anchored in a strengths based tradition. She looks forward to working with you.
