Katie Santamaria, M.A.

Katie Santamaria, MA is a predoctoral extern at the Child and Family Institute. She is a third-year student at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology pursuing her PhD in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis) with a minor in Child Psychology. Katie has specialized experience working with patients who experience chronic pain, particularly migraine and other headache disorders, and she treats children and adults of all ages. She takes an eclectic approach, individualizing treatment to each client’s needs and pulling strategies from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy. Katie is an advocate for collaborative, values-driven work with an emphasis on exploratory and acceptance-based treatment.
