Emily Rispoli, M.S.

Emily Rispoli, M.S., is an extern at The Child and Family Institute. She graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development/Family Science and Psychology. Additionally, she has received a master’s of science in applied psychology and is in her third year in the clinical Psy.D. program at Long Island University-Post campus. The Psy.D. program at Long Island University is unique in its dual orientation, and Emily has been trained in evidence-based practices and psychodynamic treatments. Emily specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. She has experience working with autism-spectrum disorder, depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, trauma, specific phobia, separation anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and encopresis. Emily has gained proficiency in various therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, integrative therapy, and psychological assessments. She excels in effectively connecting with her clients during therapy sessions and customizing her approach to suit their specific needs. Emily’s background also includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults with various diagnostic presentations including those who are intellectually disabled, autistic, have Down syndrome, and mood, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. As a clinician, Emily prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and implements a holistic and empathetic approach to structure her therapy sessions.
