Bianca Serrano, B.A.

Bianca Serrano is a 4th-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology Psy.D. program at Felician University and is currently completing her clinical training as a Pre-Doctoral Psychology Extern at The Child & Family Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brooklyn College in 2023 and is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Bianca has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across educational, behavioral health, and counseling settings. For the past two years, she has provided therapeutic services under supervision while also working extensively with children on the autism spectrum. Her clinical experience includes supporting college students and young adults as they navigate identity development, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and self-esteem concerns.
Bianca’s therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic principles and informed by evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. She believes therapy is a collaborative space for reflection, growth, and challenging patterns that may no longer serve individuals in their daily lives. Bianca strives to create a warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, gaining insight, and developing practical tools for change.
Her professional interests include identity development, emotional regulation, family dynamics, relationship concerns, and young adult adjustment. She is particularly interested in helping clients understand how past experiences shape present thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
In addition to her clinical work, Bianca is currently conducting her doctoral dissertation research exploring homeschooling experiences and decision-making processes among Hispanic/Latino families. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the New Jersey Psychological Association (NJPA) and remains committed to ongoing professional development through research, training, and continuing education.
