Rachel Weisberg, PsyD

Dr. Rachel Weisberg (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in New York since 2018. Dr. Weisberg came to New York from California in 2016, after completing her Psy.D. at John F. Kennedy University and predoctoral internship at the University of California San Francisco, Child Trauma Research Program. Dr. Weisberg was privileged to train with a specialized focus on cultural sensitivity and child psychology. During her internship, she was trained and received implementation level certification in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), an evidence-based dyadic treatment for young children (ages 0-6) and their caregivers to heal from the effects of trauma. For her postdoctoral fellowship, she joined the Mount Sinai Parent Infant Center, to continue her practice in CPP. She provided home-based services to NYC families from 2016 through 2019, then clinic and telehealth psychotherapy until 2026. While at the Parent Infant Center, Dr. Weisberg began supervising doctoral level psychology students and she gave numerous presentations on early-childhood mental health and traumatic stress to lay people and professionals.

Dr. Weisberg has held a private practice since 2018, in which she treats adolescents, young adults, couples, and young children. She has experience with presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and parenting issues. In addition, she specializes in women’s issues, pregnancy and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Through her experiences in early intervention and Child Parent Psychotherapy, Dr. Weisberg has developed a strong belief that the best time for a person to become a well-regulated, emotionally healthy individual is in the first five years of life. Always holding a perspective of culture, community, and social justice, Dr. Weisberg strives to help individuals find peace, healing, and skills to improve their daily functioning and mental health.
